The Four Simple Steps to Staying Young

If you want to look younger and you don’t feel like popping a bunch of pills, then read on. Here’s the best advice for looking younger than you’ve ever imagined from Linda at Say-No-To-Aging:

Step 1: Get Enough Sleep
This is so important! Please don’t laugh this off. Nothing brings on more wrinkles and that beaten down look than prolonged lack of sleep. The research is currently in conflict over exactly how much sleep is good. For years we’ve believed that 8 hours is necessary to maintain good health. However, a recent study suggested that 8 hours could be too much and potentially cause damage. I would suggest at least 7, but not more than 8 hours of sleep.That’s right! Read that again. Get enough, but don’t get too much sleep. Too much is also damaging.

Step 2: Restrict Caloric Intake
This is a no-brainer to me. Apparantly it’s still a bit of controversy. Listen… the more calories your body has to process the more it works. The more works the faster it ages. This has been proven in study after study. Now… I’m not talking about eating celery and grass for the rest of your life. Just be moderate. Set goals for yourself. First decide how many calories you want to limit yourself to. Not too many and not too few. About 2000 calories should be enough. I take in about 1500 calories a day. Then work on making larger and larger portions of what you eat more nutrient-rich with fewer calories, while never going over 2000 a day. If you did really well on a certain day and are only at 1500, reward yourself with a sunday or some dark chocolate. Remember never to go over the daily limit of calories, while at the same time eating more and more nutrient-dense foods. You can do this!

Step 3: Increase Intake of Antioxidents
Antioxidents detoxify our body of the poisonous agents that, among doing other things, make our cells age faster. Of course, because you are going to try to eat better, you’ll have less toxins in your body. However, I don’t think you can overdose on antioxidents. Get your AOs from blueberries, pomegranites, cherries and green tea. There’s a bunch of other AO-rich foods, but these are among the best.

Step 4: Exercise
Come on people! This isn’t rocket science. Our human bodies evolved to what they are today when our ancestors (however far back you believe they go) were constantly running around chasing food or growing it in a field. Or, walking miles a day for water, etc. Read my lips: we are not meant to live sedentary lifestyles. It’s as simple as that. Throw all the excuses away and just get more exercise. Walk more and take the stairs.That’s it folks. Spend all your money on creams and other crazy things if you must. I’m sure the better products out there have some value. Seeing Like New: The Process of LASIK Surgery.

Seeing like new again…..It’s almost like having a new set of eyes when you have LASIK done.
Now with the price for LASIK dropping in cost more and more people may elect to have this procedure done. You can now get LASIK done for as low as $299.00 per eye. First you need to make an appointment to see if you are a candidate for the procedure and if so your Doctor will discuss the different forms of laser with you to see what is best for you. Some people have different problems with their eyes that do not allow them to have the procedure or they may some other problem that will allow the procedure to be done but at a heftier price then normally. One of those situations is with people who may have a severe astigmatism then the cost would be higher somewhere in the $799.00 per eye price range. This is where the Doctor has to use the Visix laser due to the astigmatism. The Visix laser is more accurate and therefore more expensive to have done.

When having this done on the day of your surgery a nurse will have you sign all of the disclosure papers this will explain to you what could everything bad that could happen. For the most part though, hardly anything at all goes bad. Most Doctors have performed this surgery routinely. So any anxiety should be lessen.

How the procedure will be done is that the Doctor will use a computer to make a topographical picture of each eye and then calculate the exact shape of the lens that would give you perfect vision.

Once the computer is done doing that, the Doctor then cuts a small flap in the cornea of the eye and lays the flap back. Then the laser procedure is next. You will be surprise to know that the laser portion of the surgury only takes but a couple of minutes. And in all including recovery time the entire procedure will take about 45 minutes.

Usually right after the surgury the patient can already experience better vision. But it’s important to note that you must keep your eyes close for about 3 to 4 hours so that the flap can heal. The next day the Doctor will have you come in so that he or she can check how everything is healing and to test the vision of the eyes.

In most cases the patient will experience 20/20 vision the very next day. The only drawback to this is that sometimes you may want to rub the eyes when they itch but you must not touch the eyes for no reason for at least a week or so. Most patients will take that drawback to have 20/20 vision again.

A good advice if you are going to have the procedure done would be to pay the extra money and get the 1 year guarantee. If you don’t get the insurance you will have to pay the entire amount again.

How to Use Law of Attraction to Create Better Relationships

Every emotion we feel, every thought we think, everything we focus on has the power of influencing our life. And, in point of fact, every attitude we express or experience really influences the way we build our life. This is the Law of Attraction; what you see is what you get. If you picture you will never manage to find the love of your life or that you will never have a true friend, such things will never occur to you, because it is impossible for you to visualize just how good it will feel to actually hold a friend or a loved one as the most undeniable reality.

Therefore, you need to train your mind: you need to tell it what you really want from a relationship. It is highly significant that you get to inherently grasp the attitudes, the physical characteristics, and the interests that make sense in your life and in the development of the relationships you get into. All of these data are necessary so that you can establish a clearly targeted focus. Focus is the primary notion, the one you will be working with by virtue of LOA.

Many people keep it on a losing streak when it comes to relationships simply because they focus on what they did not want from certain relationships. They did not want their partners to be that thin, that fat, that impatient, that dreamy, that material, and so on. But they miss out the entire point: they just won’t focus on what they DO want. They only see the negative aspects. As a consequence, by virtue of LOA, they will attract only the negative dimensions of their relationships.

The problem grows even more acute when such people go on to the next relationship without eve having given a thought to what was wrong about their prior attitude. And they keep it on with the same negative vibrations from one relationship to another; they probably think: “I want to start it all over again.” But if they start it with the same negative attitude, the vibrations will mirror back only negative outcomes.

The first step to a perfect relationship is to make an inventory of the positive things you expect from it. You need to focus exclusively on positive expectations. Just by noting down what you dream of will make it easier for you to begin the next relationship on the right foot. Next you need to visualize you have everything you could have wanted from that relationship, without actually fooling yourself. LOA will not fail to let you know in due time what are the best methods of approaching this or that relationship. Yes, there will be work to do: you won’t seize the perfect partner or friend by expecting LOA to act alone. By virtue of the same Law of Attraction, action attracts action. So it’s time you trained your mind and prepared your soul into perceiving what’s good about a relationship and avoiding focus on the negative aspects alone. In this manner, you have found the best road toward better relationships.

Agression Is Not Needed

Healing, a simple succession of natural behaviors, is easily learned.

First, the healer makes energy contact with the earth / the natural environment, by attending to the sensations of his / her own first chakra—perineum or feet. When the healer is engaged with the earth, his / her body fills with nature’s energy.

Then, as the body fills with nature’s energy, the heart opens, allowing the remarkable event of healing to occur.

After my first several years of healings, it became obvious that the energy of the heart, which we call love, has intelligence. It organizes that which is disorganized—pathological tissue or unpleasant feelings.

Although words are not synonymous with energy, love is intelligent.

How, does the healer, or loving person deal with another’s aggression, destructiveness or self-harm?

By loving that person.
By opening their heart to that angry other.

It is not helpful to punish in order to teach or reform.
Punishment does terrible things to the punisher.

One merely loves the errant person, the wrong doer, the misinformed.
One must love with one’s best and most practiced ability and concentration.
In the presence of love, pathology alters,
and destructiveness gentles.

Love and order seem to be almost the same.

So, love is not a reward that one bestows on the well behaved. Love is the bearer of intelligence, of cure, of common sense, of “organic ethics.”

Love is the energy emitted by the heart.

All you need to do, should you want to use this birthright of yours, is to begin by paying attention to the physical sensations in the center of your chest. As you practice, paying close attention, the sensations become more perceptible, more apparent and easier to access. With continued practice loving becomes simple. The awareness of those sensations of you heart, will make you healthier and happier.

When faced by wrongdoing, one is called upon to love.

Law of Attraction 101

The law of attraction is similar to the sayings “You reap what you sow” or “what you do comes back to you.” In other words, the law of attraction is about sending and receiving energy. If you’re negative, negativity will manifest around you. If you’re positive, positive outcomes will manifest in your life. Some people call this karma, while others equate it with the Golden Rule.

Think of a pebble dropping into a placid lake. The law of attraction is like the concentric circles that the pebble creates in the water. The circles keep traveling, spreading outward. Eventually they reach the shore, where they bounce back, then return to the place where you dropped the pebble. With the law of attraction, everything you do is like dropping the pebble into the lake. Everything you do, no matter how big or how small, no matter whether it’s positive or negative, comes back to you.

If you shower others with affection, you, too, will be showered with affection. If you are rude to others, they will be rude right back to you. It’s as if with the law of attraction, human beings become mirror images of one another.

If you constantly worry about something bad happening, such as getting in a car accident, eventually you’re going to get into a car accident. But if you always envision yourself and your loved ones traveling safely, you will enjoy safe journeys. Such is the law of attraction.

Monitoring Our Emotions, Thoughts and Decisions

If you don’t like a particular situation, you can change it through the law of attraction. By recognizing and transforming negative emotions such as fear, hate, anger and worry, we can attract better circumstances in our lives. Although all emotions are valid, we can’t let negative emotions become chronic, or else we’ll invite myriad unsavory scenarios into our lives. The very first step, and the trickiest, is to become aware of your negative thoughts and emotions. Then you can work on transforming them to positive thoughts and emotions. You can either be angry about an unexpected $400 auto repair bill, or you can be grateful that you have enough money to pay for it!

Likewise, we can monitor our decisions. Sometimes we make poor decisions based on their superficial allure. Perhaps we work for a terrific boss, but we want to make more money; so we accept a higher-paying job working for a boss with anger-control issues. Which is more important, $3,000 more a year, or happiness? According to the law of attraction, we literally create our own reality.

Anti-Aging Foods

Have you heard that the key to staying young is eating right? Perhaps you’ve also heard that there are certain foods that have special properties, unique components that make them literally antiaging food. There is a lot of misinformation out there about aging and how to prevent it, but the advice we are receiving about eating well is something we would all do well to pay attention to.
Antiaging food seems too good to be true, As scientific research reveals more and more about how the human body works, what foods promote a healthy body, and what foods cause physical stress, it is becoming evident that many of the life threatening diseases experienced by aging people are the result of an unhealthy lifestyle and a poor diet. Viewed from this perspective, any foods that form part of a healthy diet might be considered anti aging foods, but it’s also true that some foods in particular seem to have unusual properties.
The largest groups of these antiaging foods are the ones that contain antioxidants. Antioxidants are molecules that clear away free radicals, damaging particles that damage body cells and accelerate aging. Free radicals are always being produced in our bodies, so antioxidants are constantly needed to remove the free radicals before they have a change to do damage. Many foods, particularly fruits, vegetables, and whole grains contain antioxidants, while a few are astonishingly high in these beneficial antiaging food molecules. Three of the best are blueberries, red kidney beans, and cranberries.
All of this current information on anti aging foods can be used together to design a diet that is both healthy for the body in general and helpful for avoiding the typical signs of aging. Such a diet would avoid consuming pesticides and other toxins as much as possible, as well as foods that are high in fat, salt, and sugar. Grains should be whole grains because the body converts the sugar in these carbohydrate sources at a slow and steady pace. Antiaging foods are the whole vegetables and fruits. Proteins should come primarily from beans, nuts, and seafood, with a minimum of dairy, poultry and red meat products. Healthy fats include olive oil and, to a lesser extent, other vegetable oils - avoid trans fats and saturated fats as much as possible.
Though, for many people, adopting a diet of anti aging foods may seem like a drastic and difficult task, most people quickly discover a feeling of increased well-being, and gradually come to enjoy eating these wholesome healthful foods. And they are able to enjoy good health longer into their senior years. Antiaging foods are definitely worth a try. Supplementation can also ensure that you get the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients you need, as sometimes even the most well-balanced diet is lacking in some essentials.

The Quest For Better Vision: LASIK Surgery

Next, you should keep aware of the problems that LASIK surgery can cause but in most of these cases it came from Doctors not using the Interlace and Custom wavefront technology together.
One of the problems with LASIK has been the LASIK 20/20 phenomenon. While some people do see 20/20 after the procedure is done it usually the vision is hazy or blurred. The reason being is because of the higher order aberrations and yet another reason to get Custom Laser done.

Hair Color Nightmare: Making Sure This Doesn’t Happen To You

So, you want to color your hair, but don’t know where to start. Most people are afraid to color their hair because they do not know about the whole process. Hopefully after you read this article, you will be equip with enough knowledge to feel comfortable getting your hair colored either by a professional or by doing it yourself.

First of all, you need to chose the color that you want your hair. Choosing the right color can be challenging and can be what cause people to avoid hair color. When choosing a hair color, it should complement and suit your complexion. You are lucky if you have pale skin as any hair color will usually look great. If you have a pink tone to your skin it is best to avoid shades of red or golden blond. If you have an olive complexion you want to use hair color that is dark. You can also add richness by considering lowlights in shades of brown or auburn. If you have a shallow complexion avoid yellows to orange tones, your best bet is to go deep red.

Secondly, you need to decide if you are going to color your hair completely or just highlight it. If you hair is short, consider full color instead of highlights. If you have long hair highlights will help to brighten you complexion. You will need to touch up your color every 4 to 8 weeks depending how fast your hair grows. Highlights usually last 2 to 3 months before you have to touch up. You can either get the roots touched up by a salon or purchase kits at the store. You need to make sure that you test the color first before doing the touch up to make sure that they match. Also, if you have highlights, you can just have your hairline, crown, and part done instead of doing a whole head color.

Third, you have to decide if you are going to pay someone to color or highlight your hair or if you are going to attempt to do it yourself. Now a days, home color kits have become almost fool proof. These kits are perfect for those who want color, but are unable to pay the professional prices for it.

If you choose a color that you are not sure of, make sure that you go back to where you had it colored and talk to your stylist. Most places will fix the color until you are satisfied. Don’t be afraid to let them know that you are not happy with your color. If you colored your hair on your own, it can be taken care of using the manufactures advice. You can also use a body building shampoo to wash away the color faster. Or you can go to your local salon and see what they can do to help you.

After you hair is colored or highlighted, it is important to care for it properly. You should make sure to invest in a good color enhancing shampoo and conditioner at least once a week. Color enhancing shampoos and conditioners have small amounts of color that gets deposited into the hair when the product is used. This will increase the longevity of your hair color.

Need A Hair Cut, but Don’t Know What Your Style Is?

Face it, everyone hates going to their hairdressers because they know that the dreaded question is coming. ‘So, how do you want your hair this time?’ My thoughts on this are, we go to the hair dressers to have them do our hair, shouldn’t they know what will look best on us. Well, no matter what size or shape your face is, hopefully this will help give you a better idea about what you want the next time your hairdresser asks you.

If you have a round face, you want to make sure to get a cut that makes your face look slimmer. It is best to keep a style that falls just below your chin and one that will add a little bit of dimension on the top of your head. If you are one that likes the look of bangs (something that is hot for this year) then make sure to keep them on the long side or swept to the side in a wispy fashion. This will help to play down the roundness of your face. You definitely want to avoid haircuts tat emphasize the roundness of your face. This means do not get that all one length haircut and avoid blunt cuts.

If your face is square in shape, you will want to make sure to soften your face. You do not want a hairstyle that will accentuate your strong angular jawline. So it is best to avoid that bob style and blunt bangs or this will cause your face to look squarer. What you do want to do is for texture by getting curls (or accentuating the ones that you already have) or make the ends choppy. If you prefer something with even more flair, consider a short, spiky look or even a long layered look that starts down at the jaw and continues to pull your eyes down.

If you are cursed with the long face, there are many options for you depending upon whether you like short or long hair or if your hair is straight or curly. If you are blessed with beautiful curls, you want to avoid short layers because this will only add more height on the top of your head accentuating the length of your face. But, consider a chin length bob to widen the look of your face. You can do this also by wearing bangs either shorter or for the super hot look of the season in very long side swept modern fashion. You definitely want to avoid styles that are extremely long and very, very short. This will make your face look twice as long. Always wear layers of you can, especially around your face as this will make you look beautiful.

If you have the oval face style, feel very lucky. This is the most versatile shape. You can wear your hair long, short, curly, or straight. It does not matter what style you get your hair done in because it will always look good. If you want to accentuate your cheekbones, make sure that the layers start there. The same goes for the lips or the chin. Wherever you want to accentuate, start your layers there. To avoid making your face look long, you want to avoid short layers which add volume to the top. You might also want to avoid a blunt haircut if your have curly thick hair and this will make you look like you have helmet head.

The final face style is the heart shape. This shape tends to dray more attention to your chin rather than to your face. This can be rectified by helping to draw attention to your eyes and cheekbones. Side swept bangs, long bangs, or hair that falls below the jawline will help to draw that attention upwards if you have long hair. If you like you hair shorter, consider keeping soft long layers to draw that attention to your eyes. You definitely want to avoid haircuts where your bangs are cut bluntly or you get a cut that has choppy layers.

So now that you know what to avoid and what looks best, hopefully the next time you go to the hairstylists, you can answer that age old question “So, how do you want your hair done today?” and feel happy about the style that you walk out with.
